How to Increase Your Employees’ Motivation Levels
One secret to better performance and better yield in business is to keep your employees energized. This can be done by increasing your employees? level of motivation.
Motivation plays a big role in production and in the long run the success of a company. In fact, the motivation level of the leader or the manager of a company is a crucial factor in the success of any venture, whether it is a social project or a business.
When people are motivated to do something, they are more creative. They are energized to do their jobs and are not easily frustrated. People who have high levels of motivation will be able to work on tasks non-stop and when that is finished, will be able to do other tasks immediately. These are the people that are often called workaholics because they seem to have an endless stream of energy to their jobs.
This the reason why managers often try to motivate their people through various techniques. There are some who go directly and offer monetary rewards while there are others who keep it simple and subtle by promoting employees. But there are other ways to motivate people besides the promise of more money and a higher position. Here are some of them.
1. Praise them
Words of praise especially coming from the boss are incomparable rewards that people will always treasure. Remember that people want to be respected and recognized for their work. When they are praised by the people that they consider their leaders or those that they respect, they will be able to perform better. They will also be happier and their confidence levels will go up. Confident people are more energetic and are more creative because they are more trusting of their abilities. They are not afraid to be vocal about their ideas and are not afraid to take risks.
2. Give them the time
Who does not want to speak with the boss? Giving time for a little chit chat with your employees will give them a sense of belongingness in the company. It will also make them more amenable to your decisions. You should foster an open environment in your office where people can go to you and say anything they want without fear of censure. This is actually great for small companies who are starting up and are in need of fresh ideas.
3. Involve them with the decisions
Another way to motivate your employees is to get them into the votes. This is especially true for major decisions that will involve them or which will factor in their lives. It is important that you also ask them what they think. Giving them the right to say their piece and to vote for something will give them ownership of the business and we know that people tend to perform better or do more for things that they own. Make the business your employees?. Create that feeling of belongingness and oneness. You will have smoothly operating business.
4. Let others know
Posting achievements in a bulletin board will give employees the motivation that they need to strive more. Besides the feeling of competition even if there is none can fuel the blood of some. Let others know of what other people have already achieved. It will set a great example that may be they will be following.

I think avoiding the “black box” method of management is a very good way to get your employees involved.
Quite often strategic decisions are made, changes are introduce, without making the staff feel like they’re a part of change. They don’t have to be making decisions, they just need to feel like they’re vital part of the business – who in fact they are. Making sure they know that, and letting them sometimes experience the privlidges of being the Vital Part is one of the keys, I believe.
Hey this is a pretty good blog i will tell all my friends about it, i just found a lot of good information here.

Yes, to increase motivation is very much necessary to get best performance out their work
I kinda agree with everything. It´s just difficult making it happen.
Thanks for the tips. It seems good. Will try to apply.
Very important your four suggestions to motivate the work of our employees.
Actually when our employees are satisfied to our company and management then our business will easily boost up.
If they are not, then it is difficult for a businessman to improve their business.
Thanks to write on this issue……!
I think a raise in their salary will motivate them much more than other intrisec motivation method
I think all the forms of motivation can be summed up in just one word: recognition. Different kinds of recognition works for different employees. One may respond more favorably to public praise, while another may respond more favorably to a salary raise. And no, the rhyme is not intentional. *grin*
I agree with your points which work very well. I say that besides giving monetary benefits, employees can be motivated in other ways such as showing appreciation by a pat on the back or by a simple thank you.
@Copertine Retractable: a raise in their salary usually only lasts for a short time (maybe a month or two). People tend to get used to their new level of income rather quickly. Imho Brigids points are spot on.
Not giving a salary raise is of course the perfect demotivator.
I think we should be more familiar with the employees.
I totally agree with you, Salary raise is very important to motivate employees but other things is important too.
Motivation or “work morale” is so important. People work harder when they are motivated.
That’s really a good approach i agree with your article once a employee is motivated then automatically the organization yields a good turn over but it is how we motivate ones hard-work and their ideas too . if we motivate them and provide what they need for sure the people get motivated and you David have done a great job all the 4 statements are the real facts .
Great piece of work. One way is to give them interesting work and a ladder that satisfies their growing need. It’s simple.
Nice list. One to add – I think the best way to increase motivation is based on why they are there in the first place: Give performance-based bonuses for excellent work.
