Thinking and Working Smarter - getting through the first week

Are you starting a new job?  It can be hard to get through the first week, but there are things that you can do to make yourself excel at the new job. You are going to have to think smart and you will also have to work smart. There are tons of things that you will want to do to make the first impression the right impression.

When it comes to the thinking and working smarter for the first week you have to set yourself in a positive motion. You need to make sure that you do everything that you can to make yourself believe in yourself. You need to think that you are able to do something and you do your job well. You don’t have to worry about making friends or lasting relationships at work, in fact, you might want to stick to yourself for a couple weeks to see where you stand in the company.  You may also want to think about taking criticism not personal. You may be use to doing things differently, but once you get to know and understand the way that the company does things, and then you will be able to do your job better. Give it time before you judge yourself. You’re first week you are going to be nervous and you’ll make some small mistakes. Just let your boss know that you are unhappy wit the way things are going, but it’s just your nerves, once you get comfortable, you’ll be able to do the job just right.

Once you have yourself psyched for the job you will want to think about the job itself. If you know that you can do something you will want to make sure that you come prepared for work every single day. This means that you will want to dress according to the dress code. You will want to also come prepared with all of the things that you might need to fulfill your job. Then you will want to make sure that you ask all and any questions to your superior or boss. Even if you have been doing something for years, you are going to find that every company does things different. You will find that this is true no matter where you go, but there will be similarities. You can take comfort in the similarities and your boss will understand as well.

Now, dealing with the co-works can be hard. There are going to be people who are going to try to bring you down and make you feel uncomfortable. However, if you show everyone respect and that you can do things, you’ll be able to earn their respect. It’s okay not to make friends right away. You’ll want to give them time to get to know you and become comfortable with you. There are some people who may feel like you are replacing someone close to them and it hurts not to have your buddies there anymore, but you can make the whole situation better for everyone if you just show respect.

When it comes to working with others you’ll find that it can be difficult since you are the new person, but if you just be yourself, you’ll be fine. As of the job you have to realize that you can hired for a specific reason and that is because you know how to do your job and do it well. You have proven yourself to the boss and that is the hardest step. You have proven it to yourself, but you have to think about what the co-workers think. This means that you will want to show everyone that you can pull your weight around the office to and get things done.
