Building Self Esteem with Self Reliance and Constructive Change

When you are growing up in school, you are taught words like self- esteem and confidence. As teenagers and adults, we struggle to attain self- esteem because we all want to be happy and view ourselves as something worthwhile. Personal remarks may make us feel undervalued and finding the way to feel good about yourself becomes even more of a purpose.  Guided relaxation for self- esteem is important to make us feel healthy and to leave the stress behind. Self- esteem is important with healing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our bodies.  Stress will eat away at your self- esteem and will cause us more pain than needed.

Negative thoughts will induce stress, feelings of anxiety, depression, and relationship problems.  Stress eats away at self- esteem because we start second-guessing ourselves, feeling like we do not do a good job no matter how hard we try, and it will affect our sleep cycle.  Sleep is very important to our bodies.  Some individuals require more sleep than others do and sometimes you can actually get too much sleep. Those who suffer from depression tend to sleep a lot, feeling lethargic and unable to gain energy.  Others tend to go until they drop being to exhaust to get an entire nights rest. Stress will affect a person’s life and eat away at self- esteem because you will start messing projects up if you do not have the proper amount of sleep.

In order to keep the negative thoughts at bay you need to find a relaxation technique that works for you.  Mediation teaches a person how to live positively while helping you relaxes. Mediation allows you to take a few minutes out of the day to shut your mind down and find a happy place.  Health is also important. The more a person has low self- esteem and stress the more they tend to eat things that are unhealthy for them.  Having a positive and healthy diet is as important as learning how to relax.

If you feel yourself thinking negatively, try to turn it around to a positive thought. Try looking at the positive side of an assignment rather than the negative.  Self- esteem is all about how we perceive ourselves, how we think, and how we react to others around us.  Taking a small step at a time is important. You should look at one aspect of your life that is affecting your self- esteem and work it out. Take something that causes you stress and analyze it. Look at the problem and find several solutions to solve that problem.

When you take up the meditation technique, you will learn that a soft CD and thirty minutes will help you. The CD should be something you will relax to, something that will let your mind wonder rather than concentrate on the words. Finding a quiet place will also be essential.  You might decide a yoga mat in the middle of the floor is a prime spot or you might think a dark room where you can sit comfortably is a better place.  Once you begin your guided relaxation to self- esteem, you will need to think of things that will make you happy.  It could be a place that you have visited that you envision to take you mind away.  You might find concentrating on a loved one that supports you will get you to the relaxation stage you desire.  Most individuals picture something to get them in the meditation state and then their minds wonder over what ever the consciousness feels appropriate.  Guided relaxation to self- esteem is important when you are trying to leave the stress behind and find yourself.
