Losing it…

One of the things I have noticed while I have been sick is hair loss.  While this has been temporary, it does give me some insight at how frightening hair loss can be!  I just kept brushing and it just kept coming out.. showers were a nightmare as I was constantly clogging up the drains.   Luckily, as I said, this hair loss was temporary, but there are some conditions out there that do create permanent hair loss in women.

Hair loss in men, is, of course, much more common, but hair loss in women still occurs during particular illnesses.  One type of treatment is a topical medication to promote new hair growth commonly known as Rogaine, or Minoxidil.  Most women only use the lesser strength of 2% to treat their hair loss.  The other treatment option that women have is a surgical option called stereoscopic follicular unit hair transplantation.  This procedure produces entirely natural-looking, permanent results.  The way it works is by replacing the hair follicles that are experiencing hair loss with hairs that are healthy.  Within a few months, hair begins to grow in its own, natural way.

Dr Pistone’s website is full of great information on all kinds of hair loss, so if you are looking for New Jersey hair restoration, it might be worth booking in for a consultation.
