One of the..

things I always felt I missed out on by not living in the US was the concept of “Prom”.  I guess we have a school formal but I really don’t think it has the same hype as the American prom does.  We don’t have a prom king and queen either - but then I guess because many of our schools are single sex schools that isn’t really possible!

I still love dressing up in formal gear, but I don’t have much opportunity these days.  Maybe that can be another of my new years resolutions - to get dressed up in formal gear once a year!

Half the fun is the search - everyone wants the perfect dress at the perfect price! Talkpromdresses.com has alot of great advice on the selection and purchase of prom dresses and gowns.  One of the really valuable tips they give is to prioritise what you are looking for in a gown.  Is colour the most important thing?  Style?  Cost?  Once you know what you want it makes it easier to track down the best dress for you.  I’ve always wanted to wear a green formal dress so maybe this needs to be at the top of the list for me.

Hopefully I can talk my husband into taking me to the opera, I can’t see myself in my beautiful green dress down at the local pub!
